About Glenbernie Family Farms at Kurmond , NSW

Glenbernie Family Farms is a family-run farm located in the Hawkesbury area. Our founders, John and Marika, have spent their entire lives in the area, and their dream of working and cultivating the land on their own was fulfilled when they stumbled upon Glenbernie 16 years ago.

For years, we have grown a variety of crops, including vegetables, hay, and grazing cattle on the fields. In 2021, we established Glenbernie Family Farms as a result of Marika’s passion for flower farming. What started as a small idea to grow some flowers in her home garden quickly turned into something much larger.

We decided to plant zinnias and sunflowers in mid-January, and by March, we were ready to take our flower crop to the Sydney Flower Markets. However, we faced unprecedented storms and flooding rains. Hawkesbury River flooding caused bridges to close, and landslides made it difficult to travel the roads to Sydney Markets.

During these difficult times, we felt that our community needed something positive to lift their spirits. That’s why John decided to share our sunflowers and create a beautiful distraction from the feelings of cabin fever.

At Glenbernie Family Farms, community is our top priority. We welcome visitors to share our experiences, stories, and sunflowers. We believe in sustainability and work hard to ensure that our farm is a place where everyone can come and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Visit Glenbernie Family Farms today and experience the freshness, beauty, and sustainability of our farm firsthand or better yet – join our family.
